HSA – NY Chapter Board Members welcome all Chimariotes during the festive October 29th Grand Opening Event organized in New York.

On October 29th, 2016, the New York Chapter of The Chimarrioton Society of America (HSA) held its Grand Opening Celebratory Event in New York City at the Ipirotiko Spiti. It was the first such event organized in New York that brought all Chimarriotes together to enjoy each other’s company and enjoy a nostalgic evening in the midst of klarina and Epirotic music. The society thanks everyone for their presence, especially our brothers and sisters who traveled from out of state, from places such as Boston, Maryland, & Florida. We hope going forward that all Chimarriotes will stay united to help and support each other wherever they might be.  It is also our responsibility to show care and interest for our homeland, Chimarra for the preservation of our culture and history and for the voice of Chimarriotes to be heard. The scheduling of the event happened to coincide with “OXI Day”, and with the opportune time, we would like to resonate our “OXI” to all entities that do not respect the culture, history, and right to ancestral properties of Chimarriotes.

Honorary guests, Petros Galatoulas, President of the Federation of Hellenic Societies along with George Patoulis, President of the Central Union of Municipalities (KEDE) in Greece give a speech of support for Himariotes.
